Added Jun 18, 2008 at 12:30pmIt is still very young, but very concentrated, really dark, and fruity. It has loads of nice oak, … but I also think this suffered a little from over extraction. The taste was very concentrated, but lacking in the mid palate, and ultimately a little short for a wine that is from one of the greatest vintages in European history. Worth seeing how this develops

Added Jun 18, 2008 at 12:24pmI must say that the nose I got on this was more vegetal than balsamic, plus lots of pepper, but the wine still appeared youthful and retaining some of the young tempranillo purple colour. The flavour was intense, with concentrated dark fruit and some menthol characters, and pretty high acidity.

Added Jun 18, 2008 at 12:21pmThis wine has probably already achieved its peak. It has some berry fruit flavours, maybe even strawberry, on the nose, and spicy, balsamic notes of aged Tempranillo, but the tannins were a little dried out and I would recommend not keeping this too much longer.

Added Jun 18, 2008 at 12:14pmIt is still, 30 years on, stunning, delicate, with cherry fruit, accented by tobacco, raisin and balsamic notes, and just velvety smooth and delicious.

Added Jun 22, 2007 at 4:56amIntense fruit and good complexity. A modern style of Rioja, not heavily extracted, but nice weight and a good savoury finish.
