Let this decant for about 45 minutes while prepping dinner. Pours a bright purplish red color with dark pink hues around the edges. I gave a whiff upon opening and it was quiet, but after 45 minutes, the aromas are quite prevalent. Ample amounts of red cherries, raspberries, tobacco and garden herbs. Starts off with the cherry and raspberries hitting the palate first. In the middle there are undertones of thyme and sage along with some hints of tobacco. Finishes strong with a nice blend of cherries and herbs. This is a nice medium bodied wine that could have used a tad more acidity, but it is not flabby by any means. Leaves a nice moderately long lingering taste on the palate.

Similar to the 2005 with ample amounts of dark fruits, this seems to have some mocha and vanilla undertones on the backend. Well balanced wine with a long lingering finish.

I let this decant for 1 hour 15 minutes. Pours a deep crimson color with red hues on the edges. Scents of red and dark berries, vanilla and chocolate. Starts off with lots of dark cherries mixed in with sweet red cherries. In the middle, there are nice undertones of chocolate and vanilla that really add balance. On the back end, the dark cherry flavors are most prevalent but it still has the sweet nuances of vanilla and chocolate. This is a full bodied Barolo that is drinking well now but it could also use more cellaring. Leaves a rich taste on the palate that lasts quite a long time.

Decanted for 1 hour. Pours a bright clear deep red color with some lighter pink hues around the edges. Lots of red cherries, strawberries and charred wood smells. Big nose. Starts off with ample amount of cherries, raspberries and strawberries. In the middle, there are undertones of wood, smoke and tobacco. On the back end, just like the middle, but really intensified. Leaves a long lingering taste on the palate with some dry tannins. Nicely structured. Can pair nicely with traditional italian dishes, especially red gravy.

Pours a slightly dark violet color with lighter red hues around the edges. Aromas of dark berries, black pepper, tobacco and leather. Starts off with nice amounts of dark berries and black pepper. In the middle, there is more undertones of spices and some leather. Finishes with more berries, black pepper spice and a hint of tobacco. A nice medium to full bodied Zin. The tannins are subsiding some. This is a nice compliment to any grilled meal.
