Excellent CA Cab from a "wine consultant" responsible for many of the insanely priced CA Cult Cabs. See http://www.melkawines.com/assets/upload/files/Los_Angeles_Times_Napa_s_go_to_virtuoso.pdf for an interesting read on how he meticulously runs a vineyard sometimes using different farming techniques for every acre of vines. This makes you appreciate all that goes into producing a top flight wine and begin to understand why they are more expensive outside of sheer demand.

Very drinkable fruit forward wine without the hashness of a comparably priced CA Cab. The smooth tannins and good fruit in this wine have me believing in Merlot again.

Very good wine. Much more balanced than the huge fruit forward CA cabs I have been drinking (and enjoying) lately. A little rough and tannic around the edges, but thats because it's still young. I would definitely buy again.

Quality NZ Sauvignon Blanc at a great price. I don't know if its the extra year in the bottle, but the 2005 was much better than the 2006 that I opened back to back. The 05 was full of melon and citrus. The 06 was the same, but with a strong "grassy" bitterness. Quite quaffable

This stuff is great and in many cases nearly as good as a vintage bottle. When dining out, I will usually go for a glass of Bin 27 or LBV over a vintage port unless I am sure the bar just opened a bottle from a good vintage or has a good wine preservation system because the complex notes present in an expensive vintage port fade quickly.
