This was part of Apple Hill, El Dorado, beginning at Grace Patriot wines and covering Lava Cap, Crystal Basin, Jack Russell Brewing, Boa Vista and Madroña in the same area. This was at Madroña. They served the reds before the whites and that kind of messed up the taste buds a little. Sweet and syrupy. Perhaps something that took away the taste of the tannins. They served the reds before the whites and that kind of messed up the taste buds a little. Perhaps because of how Rieslings are, this had more flavor, with dry plum and medium body. They served the reds before the whites and that kind of messed up the taste buds a little. This was a tough one after all the tannic reds. There is really not much to notes accept the little oak tasted. Sad day. For all you know, it was good. They served the reds before the whites and that kind of messed up the taste buds a little. This smells like swedish fish! Although overwhelmed with tannins, this was plush and juicy, with plenty of fruit and a hint of spice. I wonder if it is due to the fact that everything else has been pretty tannic or lacking in fruit. They served the reds before the whites and that kind of messed up the taste buds a little. Good notes of spice and fruit although the obvious tannins just took it all away. They served the reds before the whites and that kind of messed up the taste buds a little. This had surprisingly plenty of tannins for a Zinfandel. Kind of overwhelms the juiciness of Zinfandels! They served the reds before the whites and that kind of messed up the taste buds a little. This was tannic as well and was not at all complex. It probably needs more time although it was not fruity, lacking the characteristic layers that is typical of a good Cab. This is part of Apple Hill, El Dorado, beginning at Grace Patriot wines and covering Lava Cap, Crystal Basin, Jack Russell Brewing, Boa Vista and Madroña in the same area. The rubbery nose is back! This was very tannic overwhelming the fruit. Hints of leather. Not liking it so much, but then it could just be that there was not enough time given to it? This is part of Apple Hill, El Dorado, beginning at Grace Patriot wines and covering Lava Cap, Crystal Basin, Jack Russell Brewing, Boa Vista and Madroña in the same area. A blend of Tempranillo, Syrah and what they call "secret sauce". Toasty nose, this fruit forward wine had obvious tannins with notes of dark fruits, toasty nuts and spice. Pretty yummy! This is part of Apple Hill, El Dorado, beginning at Grace Patriot wines and covering Lava Cap, Crystal Basin, Jack Russell Brewing, Boa Vista and Madroña in the same area. Smokey nose with hints of dark cherries and spice, this was very fruity with notes of berries, oak, smoke and obvious tannins. Overall pretty decent although it had a flat bland finish. I would pay for this wine to support them! For more on the tasting, please visit http://dionyshius.blogspot.com/2012/07/el-dorado-hills-grace-patriot-wines.html
