Ready to drink now, crimson colored. Mature. Supple, black-berries, dusty.

    ruymann's Review:

What a wonderful surprise. I had purchased this because my daughter had just returned from a trip through the Gallician region and I thought it would be a fun reminiscence. The wine paired nicely with her Paella dinner - she doubles the saffron..... Full of berries, mild spice and well-rounded. Great bargan!

    ruymann's Review:

A bit of smoke, moderated fruitiness. Elegant balance. Perfect to drink now. Served with Roasted Mushroom, new garlic, asparagus, fresh rosemary and shrimp over pasta.

A lovely balanced wine. I have overlooked this wine for a few years in my cellar and opened it on a whim last night. Perfect for drinking now. Beautiful merlot grapes, mild tannins, gorgeous color and finish. Complimented an herb marinated flank steak with tomato, fresh mozz and pesto salad as the accompaniment. Yum!

    ruymann's Review:

Delicious. Complex spices from the Granache. Drank next to the Lan 2005 Rioja (well-rated by Wine Spectator) and the Valsacro is clearly a meatier choice.

A lovely wine. We served it last night with appetizers of macademias roasted in thyme and homemade caponata served in radicchio. Slightly spicy. Lovely fruit - even after 10 years. Smooth, totally enjoyable wine.

    ruymann's Review:

Served in a vertical tasting with 2004 York Creek and 2005 Geyserville. Clearly the most complex wine of the three, loved the varietal blend. Rich fruit, beautiful garnet color, slight pepper, nice blends of spices. A perfect choice with Braised Short Ribs w/ roasted Root Vegetables served over horseradish mashed potatoes.

    ruymann's Review:

Jammy. Always more fruit than I expect when I open a bottle, yet beautifully structured. Little tannic reaction on the palate Among my top five favorites in my cellar. I wish I could refrain from drinking it now because I know that it will only get better as time passes. Fabulous with grilled tenderloin or on its own.
