Having this right now with dinner. The short rib is ok, but the wine is phenomenal

Not sure what I got here, maybe a bad bottle, but this was not good. Nothing at all interesting in the glass, bleach came to mind first. Totally devoid of fruit or anything at all pleasant. For an '05 bordeaux from a single chateaux in Graves no less, this was a dissapointment. May grab another bottle because I find it hard to beleive the wine was that bad.

Had this with Christmas dinner '08. It was closed at first but opened up to very nice fruit, lots of subtle spice, cedar, and great fruit. Loved it.

For a little over $5 its hard to go wrong with this. Its better than average. Certainly kicks Yellow Tail in the pants. Nice clean fruit, not much oak to speak of. The way I like my Chardonnays. This isn't gonna win any awards for complexity, but for a good afternoon sipper its great.

This was very good. Lots of cherry and cola in the glass. Very rich fruit in the mouth. I wouldn't call this a classic wine by any means, it just isn't complex enough, but it certainly makes a higher end daily drinker or a wine to pull out for dinner guests if you don't want to grab a bottle from the cellar. I had this with a Macadamia Nut Chicken and it went very well.

J. Kirkwood Merlot 2001
just popped this. Not a lot of fruit left in the bottle, but lots of great spice and complexity. I have no idea what was paid for this bottle as it was a gift, but if it was less than $40 it was worth every penny.
