2017 was a great Super Bowl game. This wine debuted at the pre-party, and I got zero complaints from those who tried it. I got one sniff and a taste, it was just fine, no other accolades. For me the Super Bowl watching requires beer, lots and lots of beer. It is usually a 3/4 to 10/11 event.

Not bad for a supermarket wine. Bottle #2, purchased at Polly's 2/2/17. Ditto.

Purchased at Binny's, 12/2016. This bottle was opened at Power's Italian dinner night. This vintage was not much different than the 2009 I consumed a couple of years ago. For a classico there was just middle of the road talent in this bottle.

Purchased at Binny's, 12/2016. This bottle was opened at Power's Italian dinner night. It was the 2nd of a two bottle night and it absolutely won this tasting hands down. Evidently most wine made from the Nero d'Avola grape and I are kindred spirits.I have rarely had an average bottle, plus it is easy on the wallet.

Purchased at Binny's, 12/2016. I have no idea what varietals are in this wine, but it is wonderful. Viva Chile. I am not into buying multiple bottles (as in a case), but this is tempting. Maybe a 2017 house wine? I used to do that, I think? I looked it up on Al's Internets, and it is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and Syrah, the mystery of love has been solved. Bought a case in 01/2017.

Binny's 5/2016. Nothing has changed with this wine since our last bottle. Except this time we drank it in front of the fireplace in January, instead of in the summer on the deck. Ergo, it fits the bill anytime of the year.
