Like it more than the consensus here--and it certainly doesn't seem like a "sangria wine" to me. Medium bodied with strawberry and cherry fruit with soft tannins, good acidity and oak for balance. There are better wines out there for sure, but for $11 you could do a whole lot worse.

Fresh and grapey in a pleasant way. Clean medium body with a moderate, soft finish. Excellent value

Medium plus body, deep color, pleasant grapey fruit, some heat and drying oak on finish. An excellent value @ $14 (Costco).

Didn't know they made this but Roederer Estate and Iron Horse are my favorite CA sparklers. I think Roederer is a great value and love L'Ermitage. The rose seemed like a natural for Valentines. Very fine mousse, pinot noir on the nose, but layered with fresh apple. has enough body to stand up to the nose. Great, though a bit of a splurge.

Deep red color, looks unfiltered, black cherry and oak on the nose with a hint of those Valentine's hearts with the words on them. Smooth medium finish. It doesn't sound as good as it is. A very nice bottle. It was a gift from Gary Pisoni, which makes it even nicer.

2007 thin acrid and overripe, but cheap. 50% Grenache, %50 syrah, both grown in the wrong place and harvested at the wrong time.

Awesome lacking only opulence and power to be truly great. A veritable spice cabinet on the nose. 1/2010

Deep purple color, lighter than many Chateauneuf-du-Pape in the mouth (it's 60% grenache after all), but has a pretty nose and a long finish. Add the swankiest, hands down coolest most old fashioned modern label around. A great deal at Costco in Northern California ($25;1/09).

inky purple color, med bodied, some leather and coffee aromas, layered with dark fruit, medium finish. Less coarse than competitors. Good value.
