Palate: raspberry, blackberry, meaty richness, mineral notes, initially with hints of soy sauce on the back palate. Medium bodied, but with great depth -- an interesting contrast between the meaty, savoury rich flavours, and an overlying lightness and elegance. Savoury and elegant. Sharp lively acid, smooth but firm tannins. Long on the palate. Drinking very nicely now.

Palate: Fresh, floral, lemon, lime, lemon peel, orange peel, hints of apricot, flinty minerality, hints of smokiness. Long on the palate, with a beautiful balance between austere minerally acid and sweeter/richer notes.

Added Jun 10, 2010 at 5:49amNose: Blackberry, dark cherry, plum, cedary oak, earthy, black pepper, spice. Quite rich, almost jammy. Palate: Blackberry jam, plum, dark cherry, cedary oak. Firm, oaky drying, dusty tannins. Quite rich and earthy. Moderately long on the palate. After being open for three days, the jamminess has gone, and the oakiness has subsided a little. The cherry, plum notes remain, and the wine seems to have become more earthy/barnyardy. The tannins have softened a little too.

Palate: Sweet, crispy Japanese pears and honey on the front palate, followed by taut, nervy, minerally acid. Lime, lemon curd. Well balanced, elegant and long on the palate. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel.

Added May 30, 2010 at 9:07amNose: blackcurrant, cassis, spice, cedar, sour cherry. Initially with beautiful earthy and leathery notes that gradually fade. Palate: quite rich and elegant, with blackcurrant, cassis, spice, sour cherry. Again, with an initial rich earthiness/leatheriness. Smooth, structured, elegant tannins provide backbone, as does some moderate, fresh acid. A very good, easy-drinking Cabernet Sauvignon.

Added May 28, 2010 at 8:03amColour: very pale straw. Nose: Peach, citrus, some hints of tropical fruit, some creaminess. Palate: peach, guava, some citrusy notes, a small amount of lees creaminess. Sharp, fresh, lively acid. A good, fresh, acid chardonnay that would be good with food.
