This bottle was bubbly for some reason, so may not be all that representative of what the wine should be. Nonetheless, a really nice wine. Nose of lime, lime peel, candy and maybe some tropical fruit. Palate of lime, lime peel, lime leaves and some tropical sweetness, rich and intense. Sharp, dry, minerally acid.

Red berries, earth, vanilla, pencil shavings, barnyard and tar on the nose. Palate is juicy, fresh and young with juicy red berries and pepper, full bodied and hearty, with firm, long lasting tannins. Great buy for the price.

Rich but restrained and elegant. Nose of cherry, juicy red fruit, pepper and other spices and pencil shavings. Palate of red fruit, sour cherries and spices. Oak imparts an almost caramel-like rich sweet smoothness to the front palate. Rich, integrated tannins with some bitterness on end palate, which balances well with some of the sweeter notes in the wine.

Restrained, elegant wine that is quite different from the typical Australian Shiraz -- presumably hence the decision to call it Syrah.Rich, intense nose of rich dark fruits, raspberry and cassis with spices (cinnamon) and pencil shavings. On the palate, rich red fruits, raspberry and sour cherry. Sweet, rich and smooth with spicy oak on the front palate, and rich sour cherry on the back palate. Beautiful smooth mouthfeel, with smooth well rounded tannins.

Nose of dark fruits, bramble fruits, chocolate & subtle oak in the form of pencil shavings. Palate of dark fruits, with subtle oak and a certain amount of almost earthy richness from the grenache. An excellent example of a Barossa GSM - very fruit dominated, but interesting enough that it's not just a 2 dimensional fruit bomb.

An interesting and complex wine. Nose of blackberries, plum, cedar and thyme. Rich and dark on the palate, with blackberries. Smooth tannins add interest & length. A little bitterness on the back of the palate, and a good length. Seems more like an 'Old World' style wine than a 'New World' one, maybe a bit like a Bordeaux.

Subtle floral notes on the nose, with lychee and mango. Smoky, complex, clean. On the palate were citrus, stone fruit and floral flavours. Good minerality, with sharp acid, creaminess and vanilla + butteriness from oak. Well balanced, complex and intense with a good length. Slight phenolic bitterness on end, which doesn't detract at all from the wine.

I admit, my first time to try Portugese wine. A very interesting, unusual (from my perspective) wine. Smell is of sweet dark berries - blackberries, blueberries, a little bit of spice, oak/pencil shavings and maybe an earthy edge. Taste of dark berries, with beautiful earthy smooth tannins, and a bit spicy. Well rounded and warming. Tannins firm and harsher on the back palate, but still well integrated. A lovely, well balanced wine.

Nose was rich, intense & full of dark fruit, oak, spice and maybe chocolate. Palate was intense, dominated by dark fruit and oak -- pencil shavings and cigar box. Tannins were well integrated. Wine was well balanced, with neither aspect dominating unduly. Great value for the price, if you can get hold of it!
