OK, I'm really upset. The bloke that tasted this wine must have just eaten some bad poke, because I tasted the wine next to the locally produced quaff and honest, the tradewinds was a whole lot better. I've been forced to drink mekong whiskey and warm coke up in northern Myanmar and had no trouble polishing off a bottle, but when I tasted the locally produced pineapple wine, I couldn't even finish one glass. The tradewinds is 100% pure pineapple juice, as opposed to the local stuff which is flavored with artificial pineapple junk and caramel color (read the label!). The tradewinds tasted like real pineapples, it had a slight bit of sweetness, nice color. I used it one time in a sangria recipe that I got from a recipe card attached to the bottle and it was absolutely fantastic. So whoever wrote the bad review is either a shill working for the local winery on Maui, or they have all their taste buds at their body exit port.

Wow,I had this wine at Bacar in SF about 2 years ago and just had it again last night. It definitely rates up with the great Merlots of CA. I did a web search and found that it had won best of class at the west coast wine comp. The wne was in great balance, rich midpalate, long finish, nicely integrated oak. I paid $32 in SF at a bottle shop but found it on their web site for $31. great job. I'm planning to visit the winery and pick up a case.
