After opening the bottle the acidity and softening tannins made the biggest impact on me. Trying it the next day I really enjoyed the complexity and richness of this serious wine. I think that it has great potential to improve with time. According to the chart, 2003 needs aging while 2001 is ready to drink. 2001 vintage is more than twice the price. NOTE: Ruffino's flagship label. 85% Sangiovese, 15% a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Colorino. XD, 13% alcohol. Reportedly a difficult vintage in Tuscany due to very dry, hot summer. Released October 2007

This wine is worth a try. It is a very good value coming from a reputable producer. It is fresh with slight bitter/spicy finish. It goes well with cheese. I personally was looking for more crispness. NOTE: LCBO# 228551. Light smooth oak, nice fruit. Acidic food enhances the frutiness. Goes extremely well with lemon dressed avocado or yogurt dressing. Highly recommended

Elegant wine. Nice lingering pear, gentle oak. Beautiful on its own. It is a shame we do not get it inCanada.

This wine rocked my world - clean, crisp and pure with a beautiful juicy pear flavor. I tried it well chilled and just loved it. In fact this was my first Mosel Riesling and I am very excited to try more as I normally drink white burgundies. NOTE: 8.5% alcohol, sugar: 6. Released in January 2008.

Fruity and fresh. I detected fizziness which was unfortunate for me. NOTE: 8.5% alcohol, sugar: MD
