[Edited, thought this was the blend; I've had the straight Zin now too]. A tart Zinfandel which is to my liking, but not as exciting as the blend with Grenache, Mourvedre, and Syrah. Good buy though.

Grenache, Zin, Mourvedre, Syrah - Bright, tart, lots of flavor, sparkles in the mouth. Too good.

The astringent harshness was all I could taste at the start, I thought it was corked in fact, but with some air this was revealed to be a great pleasure, no flavor out of balance. Subtle flavors, hard to characterize, definitely going to try again.

[I had the 2005.] One of my consistent favorites, good balance of tartness and spice, worth the higher price compared to the sugary low-end Australian Shiraz out there. Having tried also the d'Arry's Original and Love Grass (which I prefer to this), I always look for the diagonal line in this section of the wine store.

Very crisp wine, outstanding deal for $6 when I lived in L.A. I was told it's aged in stainless steel barrels, I think this adds to its appeal for me.

I received a complimentary bottle of this when I was staying at the Hotel Lucia in Portland, I remember it being such a good wine, I ordered a second. Not that same night. I think they went to twist cap the next year or two after the 2002 when I found it in Denver.
