I usually love Bernardus Chard - my house wine since '97 vintage. But this wine was more bitterness than I ever experienced

At peak maturity 11 years after vintage. Mature flavors of plum and tobacco. Finish was too short, and the wine faded at the 2 hour mark. OK.

Wow. I loved this wine. Heavily extracted, yes. Ripe, yes. But the wine making was restrained, letting the vineyard express its own greatness. everything here was in balance and changed with every taste. This is a wine to enjoy for over a decade.

This is well made wine - for a style I just don't appreciate that much. This was over the top in sweetness and fruit forwardness. If you like drinking Hi-C, this is a wine for you.

This is good wine, and the pedigree of the furit used in this wine is awesome - I htought this vintage was a little disjointed. Maybe it needs a year to settle down.

One of the greatest california chards I ever had. Everything there was in perfect balance. What pure fruit in this wine. Awesome

How the mighty have fallen. I remember the 1996 being exceptional and costing $60. THis wine lost in a battle of 4 merlots, even the basic Mondavi Napa Melot. This wine tasted like a inexpenisive Pinot Noir

Real Merlot of pedigree. One of the greatest noses I ever smelled in the glass. But only "ok-good" in the mouth.

Tight at first, after an hour it opened up. This is a very austere wine. Not a blockbuster, not over extracted and dense. It is lighter bodied, refrained, and elegant rather than explosive. Complex tastes of spice, leather, forrest floor...but you ahd to hunt and think aobut it. Not overt

Delightful wine. So true to its varietal I thought I was Piedmonte!
