Supple and inviting with aromas of dark cherry and ripe Italian plums, the 2007 Magnificat is a rich and elegant interpretation of the traditional Bordeaux blend. Accentuated with notes of clove and tobacco, the Magnificat delivers Franciscan’s signature concentration in deep layers of integrated boysenberry, dark cherry, and cocoa flavors. The mouthfeel is full and round, with warm complexity and notes of anise and mocha on the lengthy finish.

Paired with a medium rare grilled steak I found this a nice compliment. Rich, full bodied, with a long finish to it. My regards to the vintner who did a masterful job with this wine which I highly recommend to accompany your meal or as a stand alone on a cool summer night along with some smooth jazz in the background. Salute!

Liked the blend. Rich and full. Picked up on the Vanilla and spice. Recommend a bit longer on the decanting as after 45 minutes the wine had not fully opened to my palate. It was a nice change of pace. I have come to more fully appreciate Grenache and it was most evident in this wine. Priced at $34 USD at a local restaurant it was a decent value. Rate it at 88.

I like this wine with turkey or fish. The nose is very enjoyable. Nice finish. Good price point. Very good region. Should be a staple in your cellar.

Buy it. Period. An exceptional wine that gets better with age. See the 1987 currently selling at $295. For those very special occasions (an anniversary) should yours come in the fall in front of a fireplace at the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons. For those of us that can truly appreciate what wine is all about stash a bottle of this and be patient...wait for that perfect moment in time and pull this out. Enjoy!

Run (don't walk) to this vintage. It is exceptional. A staple to be enjoyed with steak (especially kobe' beef). Buy it here and take it with you. Pay the corkage. Very well described here, but you MUST experience it for yourself. Opulent!

A nice wine...especially at this price point. Make it a staple to enjoy with pasta dishes (red sauce) or steak. I've enjoyed it from 2005 forward with consistent result. I recommend it.

Very well described here. An excellent accompaniment w/shellfish. A nice change of pace from the Sauvignon Blancs of Marlborough. A little more difficult to find though...so get it here and take it with you. Enjoy!

This is a magnificent wine. While all vintages are outstanding the 2005 vintage is a standout. The correct description is opulent. While it works with many dishes, (i especially enjoy it with kobe' beef)perhaps it is best enjoyed all by itself. It's a bit pricey...but worth every penny. Enjoy!

This is a spectacular wine at such a young age. Alamos suggests the vintage to be strong due to the climate conditions, so I suspect it will only get better with age. Note: it is already retailing at higher prices, so buy a case at these prices while you can. Great with pasta dishes and steaks. I agree with everyone here it should be a staple.
