Added Feb 28, 2009 at 10:16amI was really impressed with this wine although it is only this winery's second vintage. 60 percent Cab Franc, 25 percent Merlot and 15 percent Petit Verdot leads to a fruit-forward bold wine, with a bit of complexity provided by the Petit Verdot.

Cooper Noche NV
Added Feb 23, 2009 at 7:17pmThis dessert wine is infused with chocolate. The result is a sweet red wine with a chocolate aftertaste. Again, it manages to miss the syrupy tendency of some dessert wines and instead tastes of berries on the front and chocolate on the finish. This wine is a delicious finish to a meal alone, but would also be delicious drizzled over berries or cheesecake.

Added Feb 23, 2009 at 7:14pmThis is quite possibly my absolute favorite Virginia wine and, surprisingly, it comes from a newcomer to the wine scene. The 2005/06 blend combines the winery's first and second Norton vintages. The first flavors are bold and fruity with a spicy finish that has hints of chocolate. This wine is great paired with red meat or alone.
