I had heard that this was a very good wine, and I was surprised to see it was priced under $20. I really enjoyed this wine. It was ready to drink, and while it wasn't totally over the top (which I enjoy) it was pleasant and delicious. If I could buy cases of this wine, I would!

I had a little higher expectations for this wine, but I was not totally disappointed, the bottle was a solid, fruity and pleasant chardonnay.

Concannon has been consistently producing simple, flavorful wines for many years now. The 2003 Pinot Noir is a modest quality wine. It possesses a basic fruit profile with few tannins and a smooth mouthfeel and finish. For the price, its a nice compliment to most meals, and if its a bit dry for you, chill to about 45-55 degrees and it moistens up and provides a better drinking experience.

This is very complex chardonnay starts out mild and inviting seducing you into believing that it is harmless and tame, but after a few minutes you start to realize that this is much more than a normal chardonnay. Karl Wente has taken special care to make sure this is truly the Nth Degree!

This is a bold wine with deep rich flavors and silky tannins. Allowed to decant for more than 30 minutes the depth of flavor increases significantly and provides a true window on the concept behind super-tuscan.

Possibly un-maintained: Out of the bottle this deep rich brick-like color had a light and smoky nose, not the usual Brunello smells. Light tannins and moderate acidity with hints of berry, cinnamon, and spices.

This unusually green-gold hued chardonnay features rich scents of fruit and herb. Some residual sweetness balanced with citrus, honey and apples.

Peter Lehmann has created another gem in the 1999 Mentor. Starting right out of the bottle it has a complex and sophisticated nose with little room for doubt about the body and potency of this wine. Tastes and smells of exciting fruits, including berries and stone fruits along with an ending of pepper and mineral. This wine is very long on the tongue and aside from a mildly chalky sensation toward the end, its longevity is appreciate. All-in-all a well built wine that should be enjoy liberally.

Fantastic! After about thirty minutes of decanting this wine came out of its shell with an almost overwhelming aroma of cherry and earth. Very full bodied and bold, this wine was almost over the top, but paired nicely with a piece of veal or Kobe its manageable (ha!).
