Added Jan 11, 2013 at 12:25amOn first opening the nose shows cedar spices, cloves and currants with some light smokey toast character. The palate is currants, Asian spices, espresso and semi-sweet chocolate lingering on to a dry finish. One hour later the nose is showing dark currant, smoke, espresso and chocolate with a palate showing similar characteristics to the nose and wraps up with a dry toffee and spice finish. One day later this wine has really bulked up with a nose of dark currant, dusty black cherries and hints of spices, semi-sweet chocolate and espresso. The palate has similar character with a tart cedar Asian spice finish that is slightly acidic that mellows into spiciness with more air.

Added Dec 9, 2012 at 3:58pm50% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Boushey Vineyard in the Yakima Valley AVA. 50% Syrah from the Ranch at the end of the Road & Songbird Vineyards on Red Mountain (AVA). On first opening the nose shows licorice, dark currants cherry and creamy earthy all spice notes. The palate is bold with black cherry and all spices with a cedar & menthol spice tinged finish. One hour later the nose is showing licorice, violets and spices. The palate has loads of dark fruit and menthol spices with menthol and clove spices on the finish. One day later the nose is dark and rich with black fruit, dusty cracked pepper and all spice with some hints of bacon. The palate is equally dark with currant and tart menthol and clove spices that carry over to the finish along with some notes of cedar and cherry bark.
