Maybe not as amazing as the Masseria, but I still like it a lot. would be a great, not too overpowering food wine for a less powerful dish. nice dark plums and balanced acidity.

The definition of balance. less spice than most zins I've had recently, but just enough of everything to feature the rich fruit. not overpowering, but full. just right.edit: the one I reviewed is "Sonoma County". Not sure if this is the same one, but it was the only 08 on here....

very tight at first, even with decanting. began to open up later. much better the second day, with oaky depth and some nice herbal notes, but still not enough to blow me away.

Almost a dessert wine.... but dry whites don't do it for me, so I thought this was great. Not sweet enough to be cloying but not dry or oaky at all. Definitely not for everyone, though.

This is the first negroamaro I've had and I just loved it. dark, a fascinating, complex nose, a bitter coffee palate. at first i didn't think there was much finish, but it expanded. great match with dinner, too. at this price, try it!!
