    kylewolf's Review:

The nose began with a heavy undertone of smoke laced with dark fruit, primarily dark cherry and oak with wisps of chocolate. While somewhat typical of shiraz, this nose was surprisingly brighter than you would imagine from the description I gave. The initial tasting notes were overly powerful on the front of palate. Bright and lively with heavy leather and gravel with plenty of juice, but few distinguishables. Heave spices were thickly layered and assault the front Finishes relatively clean with only the slightest whisps of gravel for remembrance. I will warn, the spice, and dry leather and oak of this wine will quickly desensitize your palate. By the end of the bottle, the spices became less concentrate and spread across the palate. This causes a more harmonious balance with the dry leather and oak. This still remains encompassed by the softer juice. Still very enjoyable. I will give the next bottle a few years before next time.

When I first tasted this parcel about 3 wks ago, we were pairing it with steak...We almost thought we ruined our taste with the smell of the steak, but after taking this wine outside, we realized, the wine had beautiful blackened grilled steak across the majority of the palate. subtle light vanilla, smoke, and small nuances of leather and earth in the background. By the 2nd glass, the wine had opened a little, lost some of the steak, and matured to a currant, cherry pit, and slight annis, but very little jam and maintained that dark background. This wine maintained a dark and broody taste to the last drop. It may have been the most unique wine I have had, and I can not say enough about its great flavor. Truly one of my top 10 wines. The wine appeared almost blackened red and cloudy , with a perfect orange-ish oxidation ring.

    kylewolf's Review:

So easy to drink. The early palate is typical of most French and Italian wines being light bodied and with medium color. The body reminds me of leaves in the fall, being brittle, sharp, and crisp. Odd words for a red, flavors of cherry pit and fruit stone. Maintains a fruit forward flavor lacking many dark tones. This vintage is cellaring well and should last many years if you can find it. I have no idea on normal price as I found this from a distributor close out. It think this will go well with dried fruit, gouda, and light meats. For not beings an old world wine fan, this is truly a great wine.

As it says, intense and harmony, there are deep notes of chocolate and earth. enough tannin to keep the flavor from becoming too dark. There is plenty of darker fruits, overripe plum, prune, and raisin along with stone. If you look carefully there is definitely hints of leather. The nose follows the taste with exceptionally harmonious dark aromas of cocoa, oak, and that special something that reminds me the sensation I get when I drink port...
