    jdot's Review:

I didn't take any specific tasting notes, but this drank really well and I do plan on picking it up again if I see it. A full-bodied red with tannins that are not too overpowering.

Good, drinkable, relatively cheap wine. Great for a light dinner on a warm summer night.

Not a lot of depth to this wine, but the strong oakiness of the bouquet and the attack were terrific. It had mild tannins and a weak finish, but it was very drinkable with flavorful foods. A note at the shop where I bought it recommended pairing it with grilled foods, so I drank it with grilled steak and sweet potatoes and that worked out well. I did lose a bit of the sweetness of the maple-glazed sweet potatoes, and mashed potatoes probably would have been a better fit, but I would look forward to having that whole meal again, regardless.

I picked this up for $75 and was very happy with it. It had a nice bite at the beginning and quickly warmed and worked its way all around my palate. The finish was long-lasting and quite enjoyable. I don't know that I can really appreciate this wine for all that it is, yet, but I've put it on my wishlist to try again.

I had this some time ago, so I'll have to hold off on details until I get myself another bottle. I'm not even sure if this was the right vintage. Doesn't look like it's listed on the front of the bottle, which is all I took a picture of. Anyhow, this was a terrific, full-bodied Barolo. Paired perfectly with pasta and good homemade gravy. I definitely look forward to having it again. I'll try to update the review when I do.

    jdot's Review:

An interesting aspect of this wine is that it's not aged in oak barrels. This allows the full flavor of the chardonnay grape to come alive. The result is a full-bodied but fruity wine without the oakiness traditionally associated with chardonnay. I paired it with a rice, beans and barbecue chicken meal I made. Both the sweetness of the barbecue sauce and the heat of some cayenne pepper brought out different aspects of the wine. I would definitely buy this again.
