Nice medium body wine (60% Garnacha, 40% Carinena), drinks like a Merlot and not earthy like I expected and wanted. Very smooth and drinkable but a bit overpriced at $17 (2008). 88pts

Pascual Toso Malbec 2010 is a really nice wine and a bargain for the price. A smooth medium body wine with a nice finish. You'll want to decant it or aerate this one before enjoying (90 pts).

Irony Russian River Pinot Noir 2009 is a medium-bodied wine with flavors of raspberry and blackberry.

This review is for the 2004 Marchesato Degli Aleramici Brunello di Montalcino. This dry red wine has a nice balance of acidity and fruit that goes well with pasta dishes. Perhaps not the best bargain at $24 but I'd buy more if I found it on sale. Decant and enjoy (88 -90 pts).

This review is for Sin Zin 2009 (Alexander Valley Zinfandel) - I remember previous vintages being much better. At least it still comes with a cork. Although easy to drink, I find this vintage to be simple fruity and uninspired (86 pts).

Pascual Toso Reserve Malbec 2008 is a fine wine, tasty and lush with juicy fruit flavors. Decant and enjoy! $14. 89 - 90 pts

The Black Swan Shiraz (2010) becomes more enjoyable with some air. I like Australian Shiraz in general and this wine offers nice flavors with some complexity. I think it is a pretty good bargain at $6.99. 87pts

I found the Santa Alicia Carménère Reserve 2008 wine to be thin and lacking in depth of flavors. A screw cap wine $6.99. 84 pts

It's hard to go wrong with Australian Shiraz. This one's not bad for the price. (2008). A screw cap wine. 86 pts
