Added Feb 9, 2008 at 1:38pmI enjoyed this wine while eating a Chicken dish with an overpowering citrus sauce that destroys most wines that are paired with it. The sauce is almost like a syrup. Nevertheless, the Testament didn't back down an inch. Its powerful fruit didn't dominate one way or the other, but wasn't killed by the high sugar sauce. The sauce was toned down by the deep black and brown spices in the Testament the long finish kept me enjoying it long after I set the glass down. A work of art.

Added Jul 16, 2008 at 3:08amDelicious. This wine proves that the new world, especially California, can produce complex, subtle, Old World quality whites. Winemaker Cecile Lemerle-Derbes, Champagne raised, presents a wine drinking very well at 5 years, emulating Mersault qualities: smokey, creamy, with a finish that goes on and on. It is reminiscent of homemade apple pie filling with the good structure of baked apple and cinnamon, resting on faint citrus, mostly lemon. In a few years, it will be speaking bacon straight out. Now, however, there is plenty of flinty minerality that makes you think of young Chablis. An absolute delight to drink, challenging and engaging at every sip.

Added Feb 9, 2008 at 1:00pmDrinking this wine was sublime. The nose gave strong beautiful crisp pear with subtle honey tones. Delicate and rounded on the palate, bringing out more honey, almost crystallized. Sublime.
