Made up of 85% Sagrantino and 15% Sangiovese this Umbria production is a great value from one of Italy's premier producers. Good balance, medium body red berry , with good minerality and earthiness. This wine is drinking well now but I wouldn't hestitate to celler it for a few years.

A big beautiful balanced Cabernet...one of my favorite from NAPA and one of the better values. Dak fruit with a good balance of acidity and tannin. Dark berries and licorice.

Dark amd inky...a huge wine with lots of dark fruit. Tannic with great structured red. Black licorice, earth and great mineralality. A Chewy wine. This is fantastic. But I would say 98RP is a bit overrated. Still a 5

Perhaps the greatest cooperative in the world. The consistant quality that this group puts out year after year fpr such an affordable price is astonishing. This wine can get you drinking good quality nebbiolo at a reasonable price with out having to wait 12-15 years for a Barolo. I am not suggesting this wine is of the caliper of a great Barolo...but it is a good start to appreciating the varietal which to me is the greatest of them all. Enough tannins to lay down and age for years and yet accessible in just a few short years in the bottle. Red berries, minerality and firm tannins are charicteristic of this wine. Try the Langhe at about $15 as well...a real steal.

This lower entry from Argiolas does not disappoint. This medium bodied Red is what I call a mid-world wine...not over the top fruit driven but more balanced, with surprising tannins. This is my top value wine...I buy it buy the case for when non wine drinkers show up but very good for true wine drinkers.
