brick red, perfumed berries and mocha, blackcurrentrich berry, gamy, hint of chocolate still with enough tannin (fine tannin) to live another 10yrs.I really was expecting this wine to have had it's day considering I don't have a great cellaring conditions and my boyfriends mother (after a request not to touch the cloth) grabbed the cloth the wine was wrapped in and the wine went flying over 6ft high luck enough it fell on the grass and it still came up as one of the best Cabernets I've had to date.

The Boundary Farm Sauvignon Blanc 2008.Single vinyard, small handpicked hillside parcels whole cluster pressed and taken to French barriques where it's fermented with indigenous yeast.Left on lees for 10 months. This wine was amazing it was different to most of the other NZ Sauvignon Blanc that I've tried (also the day I tried this Sauvignon Blanc I think I tasted close to 20-30 others) it had a great deal of complexity, fruity characters that you expect except more elegant more refined many layers and fabulous length, enough to stop myself and a collegue mid taste. I can't relay in this post just how lovely this wine actually is.This is a show stopper.

Prophets rock vinyard 2004 Rocky Point Pinot Noir.At first when I opened this wine it was jumping out of the bottle all I got though was leather and spice, upon tasting leather, spice and acid (so I left it to breath for a while) on second glance great berry character and spicey with some earth chucked in for good measure, quite complex nose.Tastingberry, plum and rich ripe dark cherry good acid and great length.Needless to say this is another great example of Central Otago Pinot Noir still with a few years to go if you can help yourself?

Granache, unfiltered and no oak 14.5%Purple/crimson hueAmazing aroma almost like a powdery parfum with berries and boiled lollies, spice, liquorice, a touch of mint.Small tannin presents, spicey yet light good lenght with a an obvious ability to gain some age.also an organic venture. If they keep producing wine like this then I can see great things from the 20yo vinyard.

Scarborough Shiraz 2002
Bursting out of the bottle before the top's off,Colour/ Clarity:Dark Crimson-Brick hue/ Bright,Bouquet:Strong pepper, eucalytus and honey lollies (mild), stewed plums, forest floor, violets, cinnamon and vanilla,Flavour:This wine wasn't the beast the bouquet made it out to be.Great spice and berries, with a bit of an earthy characteristic....Typical Hunter wine.Well intergrated tanins and quite juicy. With food or withoutI really liked this wine and thought it would be a great wine to have with a steak or a meaty/mushroom winter casserole, even juicy enough to have on it's own.Now wish I had a second bottle to try next year
