Added Nov 14, 2013 at 9:01pmCork closure, 15%abv Was a bit concerned on opening of the bottle as there seemed to be a sweaty smell coming from the bottle......Then I realized the dog was sitting next to me. Colour- Clear Medium red with a brick or tawny hue Nose- (with the dog outside) clean light/medium, developing Still quite fruit forward Mild beautiful candied violets with plum/raspberry and pencil shavings, some white pepper. Palate- dry medium + acidity medium tannin medium- body Good fruit follow through, some acid with a good length. Conclusion- very good quality especially for the price, drink now as it seems to be at a fantastic point in it's life or keep it but I don't think any more than 2 extra years ( given I am tasting this at the end of 2013). This is a cracker of a wine that I'd happily purchase again, given the chance. I think for me this is a wine to have with a cheese board, a goulash or any big hearty meaty dish.

Added Jul 7, 2011 at 3:57amWhat an amazing white..... C: Beautiful medium golden straw, clear N: Pineapple with mild hint of sandelwood and a touch of orange blosom with some Elderberry flowers as well. P:Good weight some almost oily texture coming through with a fabulous dash of acid, leaving the mouth salivating for more. In short not only would I buy this wine again, I think I would actively seek it out. Fantastic option instead of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling or even Viognier.

Added Jun 7, 2012 at 5:31amClarity-clear and bright little wine, with a beautiful purple colour and ruby hue. Nose-pronounced toasty/smokey red fruit- plum, strawberry, blackberry, a dash of wood shavings and a violet waft.Palate-lovely dry style with the perfect amount of acidity (medium +) for food from the wonders of the big beef stew to a tomato base chicken casserole. Good tannin structure so it could sit in the cellar for a few years but let's face it, its not only right to go now but it's already had some time in the cellar. Good body and the length...., this is an intense complex wine for the price that I will now try and find again. Again brilliant wine with a $19 price tag. Woo hoo Ultimo wine centre.

Added May 16, 2012 at 6:14amFabulous wine intense deep red/purple colour and garnet hue. Nose: intense raspberry/plum, mixed in with some beautiful violet, spice and earthy notes with a touch of wood shavings. Palate: red fruit and spice carries through on the palate as with the noticeable tannins. this is a complex wine more suited to have with food to bring out more of the complexities within the wine. 3.5-4 out of 5

Added May 16, 2012 at 5:37amCork 14.5%abv Grenache 75% & Shiraz25% $35.00 Clarity:clear and deep red/purple in colour with a garnet hue. Nose:pronounced raspberry/plum (almost full red fruit spectrum) uplifted by a hint of violet and an earthy/spicey note floating around the background, slight waft of wood shavings. Palate:Dry wine with medium acidity, medium plus tannins, raspberry, violet and spice quite a complex wine as it seems to change in the glass. Flavor intense with nice long finish. The finish on this wine just goes on and on however with the complexity of this wine I think it would be brought out a little better with a food to match. I love this wine and the region it's self is new to AOC only receiving AOC in the 90's. I think this region and it's wine has a lot to offer and I will actively seek it out. 3.5 out of 5

Added May 16, 2012 at 5:19amD'ARENBERG THE CUSTODIAN GRENACHE D'ARENBERG-AUSTRALIEN-SOUTH AUSTRALIA-MC LAREN VALE-OSBORN ROAD 2005 - 05/15/12 Screw cap 14.5%abv $30.00 Clarity:clear- Garnet in colour with a raspberry hue. Nose:medium intensity with a Raspberry, clove/mild nutmeg with a touch of violet still capturing some of it's youth. Palate:Soft tannins with Raspberry following through on the palate, the wine itself is dry but the capturing of the characteristic of sweet red fruit continuing from the nose to the palate convincing you the wine could be sweet (with a lovely body), but the finish is definitely dry and persistent. This is a great little Grenache I would recommend this wine to any of my friends great for a beverage or with food. I'd give this wine 3.5 out of 5

Added Feb 16, 2009 at 7:00pmGranache, unfiltered and no oak 14.5% Purple/crimson hue Amazing aroma almost like a powdery parfum with berries and boiled lollies, spice, liquorice, a touch of mint. Small tannin presents, spicey yet light good lenght with a an obvious ability to gain some age. also an organic venture. If they keep producing wine like this then I can see great things from the 20yo vinyard.

Added Nov 25, 2011 at 12:51amI'm DRINKING THE 2005 375mls. C:-Deep red in colour/brick red hue. N:- Complex nose including dark fruit (both blackberry and blueberry) and leather inter-twined with raisin and an earthy almost mushroom character, a slight coconut and smoke with a small wiff reminiscent of cedar. (GENERAL)The complexity continues not only on the palate also evolving in the glass. P:- Good follow through with dark fruit and cedar, great tannic structure and lengthy finish that just keeps on giving. Good wine, would buy again but next time with a big juicy steak and friends to share.

Cherry, mushroom(?),earthy lots of length with fruity yet acidic finish. I think with a bit more age this wine will become more elegant.
