the wine totally rocked my world. (they have it by-the-glass at 11 madison in manhattan.) so so good! it is a blend of nebbiolo and pinot noir (my two favorite grapes!) and has the best of both. earthy barnyard meets delicate fruit, beautiful mouth feel, long finish.

yum! this wine is so tasty. i'm a big fan of all NZ Sauv Blancs, but this one was particularly fresh and snappy! (and btw, for anyone not familiar with NZ Sauv Blancs, they are a great wine for newbies. everyone loves them!)

i love a good rioja, but this one tasted a bit too oak-y for me. still a great wine, food friendly and good for sipping.

i bought this wine because it was Wine Spectator's number one wine for 2008, and i have to say i was a great wine, *but* not really my style. it was very well-balanced, smooth drinking with substantial fruit, but felt "over the top". it was a little too bold, too concentrated, and the oak was too much for my taste. perhaps i would love it with another 5 years of age.
