Added Apr 13, 2011 at 11:07pmIn all fairness should say that the remaining half bottle of this wine has transformed miraculously overnight. Still too hollow on the mid palate to really ring my bell, but tannins have settled in very nicely and the bouquet have opened up remarkably. Closer to 85 and sure it will benefit from up to 5 years further aging.
Added Apr 12, 2011 at 4:42amAt this stage kind of disappointing from such an estate, even its "just" a 2nd wine from a lesser vintage. Nice deep garnet color. Really closed on the nose though with a charming underlying hint of roasted coffee. Opens up after a while with some air but still rather one dimensional. Super tight and very dry in the mouth, with a quite pronounced green flavor profile. Grassy almost. Bit hollow on the mid palate. Light to medium bodied. Could perhaps improve with a bit more age, but doubt the fruit and substance is there to match the aggressive tannin over time. Give it food and a lot of air or chance it with another 1-5 years in bottle- it can only improve from this awkward stage. 80-83 pt

Added Feb 14, 2011 at 5:34amWhat a strange wine.. I really cant make up if I like it or not. Its kind of light bodied for an 03, yet it has both plummy, woody and earthy tones to it. Still with nice acidity and evident though tamed tannins, yet somehow overly simple. For the price tag I suppose it delivers, and could be, that its just passing through some phase and getting ready to come out as the big surprise. Honestly, eyes closed I probably would not have pinned it as a Bordeaux.. Not sure what Id has guessed actually

Added Feb 1, 2011 at 6:13amBeautiful port in superb balance and still with at least a decade of life left to it. Quite tannic at first, but opens up after a while in the glass. Full, still with some primary fruit showing (can you believe it) followed by rich sweetness of figs and raisins. finishing the bottle on day 2 was even better, where it was completely composed and together. Goes well alone as well as with sweet deserts, chocolate, and would I suggest even rich soups and braised meets.

Added Feb 1, 2011 at 5:06amAmazing wine and amazing value. Deep yellow and lots of viscosity. Clear signs of aging with petro notes but well underlined by zesty acidity and in great balance. Perhaps an acquired taste, but definitely comes with a personality making it well worth the try.
