Added Jun 5, 2009 at 4:46pmNice wine - quite mouth-filling. Gives the impression it will keep a while longer yet.

Added Jun 5, 2009 at 4:44pmLots of fruit. Perhaps drank it a little young - if anything, it was opening out just as we finished the bottle.

Added Jun 5, 2009 at 4:39pmWonderful, powerful, toffee in a glass. Long length. I literally travelled the planet to buy this wine (tried to buy in London, acquired in California, shipped home via New York). Worth it. Always the last bottle of the evening - nothing afterwards will stand up to it.

Added Jun 5, 2009 at 4:25pmPossibly just after its best before we got to it, unfortunately. Still lots of good flavour, but now a little thin perhaps, for what was generally such a good year.

Added Jun 5, 2009 at 4:21pmNot bad as an everyday rioja, but would not a wine for special occasions. Smoky nose, ok in the mouth, but the short finish matches how long the wine stays in the memory afterwards.

Added Jun 5, 2009 at 4:19pmGot me round Ecuador when I couldn't find better. Drinkable but not one to write home about.

Added Jun 5, 2009 at 4:13pmHow nice was that? Served to my parents at a special family gathering. My mother loved it so much she demanded to know how much it cost, and, when I for once relented and told her, spat it back into the glass and said she wasn't worthy. She is, and so is the wine - fantastic fruit, silky tanins, good length - does exactly what it says on the tin. Highly recommended.

Added Jun 5, 2009 at 4:09pmFantastic! If I hadn't been lucky enough to have once tasted the 1967, then the greatest sweet wine I could have ever imagned. Lots of apricots on the nose, creme brulee flavours, and long, long, long. Looking forward to the next one...

Added Jun 5, 2009 at 4:07pmLovely - lots of sweet fruit, enough tanin to balance, medium-length. An indulgence, but also a pleasure.
