    edub's Review:

Big, lush ripe, dark cherries with oak, spice and zesty, with a little air, becomes perfumed with crushed flowers, lilac, softens, with a dry, yet intriguing finish. A good bang for the buck. I would give it a solid 3.5 stars if they chose a better label for the bottle :-)

A bit of sweet oak on the nose along with plummy fruit. Tight, but flashy, yet at times unassuming and closed. We tasted this wine over a 6 hour period after decanting. After 6 hours the plummy fruit became fresh dark cherry, way more youthful, and more balanced with finesse, but at the same time big red fruits. I enjoyed it a great deal. Needs a few years or several hours of decanting.

    edub's Review:

medium bodied with appealing red fruits, smokey dark cherries and chocolate. After an hour or two of decanting the wine gains a bit more flesh, with more ripe fruit. This wine is fresh and well balanced. Excellent Value!

Nose of rare meats, spice, white pepper, taste of ripe red fruits, strawberries, clove, sweet tobacco, tad of tar, dry, good acidity, yet velvety, goes well steak, drink now or lay down for a few years. A an hour or two in a decanter is a good idea. This wine is usually solid, and this 2005 vintage is no exception.

Nose of smokey, dark fruits, tastes of grapey, tar, full and plush, good tannins, well integrated in 2009. Holds up to wines that are more than double in price. Wonderful!

  • edub's Review:

One of the best Margauxs of the 05 vintage for early consumption, in addition to keeping locked up in the cellar for decades. Loads of dark, smokey fruit. Good acidity and tannins that are solid, yet seductive, a long finish and a very memorable wine. Most of the bottles I bought, I already consumed, because it's just that good ! One of the best values in Bordeaux, as this is a very serious wine.
