    This '97 Santa Sofia Amarone was a birthday gift from a good friend several years ago. Amarones are known for their fragrance, intensity and great character. This '97 example was no exception. It had a smell of heavy perfume, raisins and a slight earthiness. I wsih I had several additional bottles in my cellar. It seems to be at its peak so if you have a bottle enjoy now or send it to me.David
