A very 'proud' wine. Not arrogant, but in the mouth, let's you know that it has arrived. A perfect blend of power and elegance, depth and nuance, adagio and crescendo. A stunning wine.

First: Brett. Beyond the flaw the wine is soft and elegant. Textured tannins. Chocolate balances the barnyard.

First pass: Inviting straight from the glass. Pure fruit, a bit stressed. Short mid-palate. Good texture on the finish. Chewy. Second pass: Opening in the mid-palate and balancing out.

First pass: A little hot, bordering on high-tone. However, soft and elegant in the mouth. Chewy tannins. Second pass: Nose beginning to soften, darken, evolving. Still a little stewy but balancing out and softening like the rest of the wine.

First pass: Dark and closed, shut down on the nose and the front of the palate, picks up with chewy tannins and a bit of bitterness. Second pass: Opening nicely, warmer and creamier, inviting, beginning to broaden in the mouth to transitioning nicely to its tannins. Complete wine

Shockingly fresh. Clarity is remarkable. The pineapple and malic character is stunning. A refreshing way to re-liven the palate after luxurious red wine consumption. I would drink this nightly to count sheep in the spring-time pasture happily.

Needs time. It’s port-like character shows hints of intense, concentrated complexity. Remove its chastity belt in ten or twenty years and this wine will be a knock-out.
