The color is pale, but crystal clear. The nose is standard for a chardonnay, slightly sour of grape leaves and low sugar content. The initial taste is mild in intensity and mild sweetness. The taste is consumed by the grape leaves and concentrated sunshine. The follow-through is over quickly and slightly bitter in the top of the throat.

This wine is a great wine and deserves respect from all consumers, novice to the experts. The color is deep and dark, 'downright' regal. The nose has notes of cherries and chocolate and is copied by the initial taste, which is spicy and sharp, yet enjoyable. The mouth feel and coat is light. The follow-through lingers and is pleasant - similar to a flower bunch. This wine is great as a sipping wine, but would pair well with chicken marsala.

The nose is spicy, medium, and warm. The initial taste is spicy, medium mouth coat, quick decrease in intensity. The follow through is light, but bold (like listening to a CD at low volume that was recorded with the microphone level too high). Smooth and pairs well with South American fare very well.

This is a fantastic dessert wine. The nose is full of caramel and smells thick. The color is dark and rich, similar to iced tea, but the tone and depth is so developed that you know it is something special. The initial taste is similar to maple syrup, but the lingering finish is all caramel. The wine is smooth and bold, but not sharp. It has a great mouth feel in that they sweetness envelopes the palate and takes the place of a creme brulee anyday!

This is a very full bodied wine. The color is dark ruby, as expected, perfectly clear and uniform. The nose is very 'oaky',has medium fruit - grape and plum, hints of peach and chocolate notes. The initial taste is sharp, medium tanins, great mouth feel, perfectly copies the nose. The follow-through is pleasant and lingers on the tongue and in the throat. This is a perfect wine for beef filet or anything with bernaise.

Malvira Langhe 2004
The color is darker than a ruby, clear and sparkles in the light. The nose is pleasant and medium bodied. The fruit is just present enough to be noticed, but the barrel is the prominent player. The initial taste is full of flavor and light bodied for a wine of thie color and class. It is full of leather, plum, and oak. The tannins are low and the flavors linger, also in body for a few seconds, which is when the follow through fades. This wine is a perfect pairing for authentic Italian cuisine with a marsala sauce.

The color is a light ruby, clear and bright. It is not a rose, but not a syrah, either. The nose is semi-crisp and medium bodied. There are hints of oak (primarily), grapes, nuts, and leather. There is a faint hint of chocolate. The initial taste (after letting the wine breathe) is medium and fades quickly, begging the consumer to continue their duty! It is warming to the palate, with the same flavors as the nose depicts. The follow through developes quickly and is full of the flavors provided by the barrel. It is fuller bodies, but lighter than the initial flavor.

The nose has hints of leather, but slight tones of just ripe citrus and grapes. The color is light, imitating a ruby. The initial tase is full of oak flavor with very little fruit (the 2001 wine was aged 12 years before bottling, according tothe bottle - I don't get it either). The initial taste is very light, but full flavor. The follow-through lasts a few seconds and continues to be smooth. There is a light mouth coating, though is also smooth in the throat. This was a great sipping wine with a cheese and fruit tray.

I absolutely LOVE this wine! The wine is a medium bodied wine with enough tannins that the taste lingers, but not enough to require a chaser of water. This wine needs to be decanted and let sit for 20-30 minutes in order to fully develope, but well worth the wait. The nose is pleasant and fruity, though heavy oak notes are perceived, along with light chocolate. The initial taste is medium-bodied, but smooth. The taste further develops into a classic cabernet sauvignon - not too spicy or over developed. The perfect cab.Knowing that one of the ancestors of this wine is what put Napa Valley on the map of wineries, I was still impressed with the heir to the throne.

April 2009
Of course after we finish the bottle, I see that this wine is rated by the maker not to be consumed until 2010 (after the next 7 months). The nose is light, crisp, airy, and full of fruit. I have sensations of apples, pears, and early picked grapes. The initial taste is that this is a medium bodied wine with light tanins that envelope with the same fruit taste as the nose depicts. This wine is spicy and sweet, but just a little bitter to make the consumer ponder the complexity. The follow-through is quick and light. The mouth coat dissolves instantly and leaves a tingle in the throat. This wine is a pleasure to consume.I have rated the wine as a '4', mostly due to the fact that I opened it too soon, but know that a little more time and this wine will open up even more. As the wine stands at the moment, I would have no reservations serving it with a dish such as veal parmesan.
