I absolutely LOVE this wine! I have had the regular wine previously, but this is the estate reserve. The wine is a medium bodied wine with enough tannins that the taste lingers, but not enough to require a chaser of water. This wine needs to be decanted and let sit for 20-30 minutes in order to fully develope, but well worth the wait. The nose is pleasant and fruity, though heavy oak notes are perceived, along with light chocolate. The initial taste is medium-bodied, but smooth. The taste further develops into a classic cabernet sauvignon - not too spicy or over developed. The perfect cab.Knowing that one of the ancestors of this wine is what put Napa Valley on the map of wineries, I was still impressed with the heir to the throne. Knowing that the standard vintage is superb, this one is even better!

The color of this wine is bright and clear. The nose is bright as well and has a lot of fruit notes, but light in wood undertones and just smells fresh. The initial taste is an exact copy of the nose and just relaxes you no matter where you find yourself. The follow-through is smooth and gone in a flash. There is almost no mouth coat and finishes clean. I recommend this as a summer afternoon beverage or at a small outdoor gathering of friends over fresh cheeses and fruits.

The color is a deep ruby red. The nose is very full of barrel and slightly harsh. There are notes of plum, blackberry and currant. The initial taste is very much the same as the nose, although lots of tannins and has a large mouth coat and heavy throat feel. The follow-through is medium bodied and heavy. It is slightly spicy, but overwhelmingly full of the taste of the barrel. The pairings for this wine are meatloaf or something of similar sophistication.

This wine is moderate in color. The nose is wondering - not bold, not weak. The nose is spicy and warm, with lots of warm wood notes coming through. The initial taste is heavily fermented, yet not intoxicating. The mouth feel is almost non-existent and has a little bite. The follow through is quick and refreshing. This is a good wine for Chilean cuisine or for a spicy cheese tray and dark chocolates. This is a little bolder than the Cain Cuvee of the same vintage, but they have very similar overtones and senses.

This wine is a dark ruby color and fresh and spicy in nose, initial and even through the follow-through. The notes that are detected throught the nose and initial taste are spice, light fruit with lots of sunshine and slightly nutty. The follow through is easy and simple. There is not mouth coat and the throat feel is over quickly and leaves me yearning for more. This is a great Zinfandel and pairs well with a myriad of beef or porkchops. The meat should be lightly seasoned as the wine makes up for the difference. This is a VERY young wine and needs to age a little while longer, but once it sat for about 30 minutes, the nose opened up and became tolerable.
