Really elegant stuff. Perfect balance, good length. As with brandy, quality has a lot to do with length of time in barrel, so one can only expect so much of a mid range bottling-it simply doesn't and can't have the concentration and length of the really old and expensive stuff. But for the price, it's at the top of the heap I think. Taste profile is actually more like fino, imo, than amontillado, then in the background hints of olorosoish caramel and walnuts.

Excellent nv champagne. Good balance, fine bead, not too foamy. Yeast and almond on the nose, toasty on the palate with hints of reserve wines in the background.

The only VORS sherry I've ever had, so can't compare it with others of that quality level, but I was blown away by this stuff. Huge concentration, pungent, fills the room with its aroma upon opening. Orange rind and nuttiness. Astringently dry, with a delicious tanginess that fills the mouth and lingers forever. Refreshing, too.

Yeasty and briny, baking spices, nutty, much richer than what I normally think of as typical amontillado. Maybe this is Lustau's house style, to tend toward richness. Very very good stuff though, great concentration and really impressed some friends of mine who weren't familiar with good sherry.

Supremeley tastey stuff. Not as sweet as one would think, but comes off as richer because sherry doesn't really have the acidity that one might think. Still, well balanced and not cloying or syrupy. Woody and tobacco'n'spice notes, very smooth and satisfying. Perfect thing to pair with after dinner coffee and cookies/nuts/figs.
