Tasted on: Wednesday, August 17th, 2011 Color: Red (dark cherry) Nose: Intense with notes of wildberries. Has a soft, almost feminine quality to it. Taste: Sour cherry, loads of acidity. Tannins are present but subdued. Finish is somewhat sour. Summary: A medium-to-full bodied red with a pleasing nose. Not overly complex. Tons of acidity suit it to consumption with food. Was better for sipping on the second day. Would definitely buy again.

Tasting Notes Color: Red (Deep Ruby) Nose: Red fruit, chocolate, and fig Taste: Fruity and spicy. Decent length. Mouthwatering acidity gives way to gentle tannins in the long finish, though fruit character persists. Summary: A medium bodied wine featuring loads of red fruit (though others note black fruits), along with a spiciness that is complemented by the wine's prickly mouthfeel. This wine is unusual for a Cotes du Rhone in that it is made primarily from Counoise. This grape is one of the 13 varieties allowed in the production of Chateauneuf du Pape, where it can lend a spiciness or prickliness to the final blend. These characteristics of the Counoise grape are pronounced in this Cotes du Rhone. Drink now.

A nice, refreshing wine. Acidity is slightly lacking for my own preferences (Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs being my white of choice), but is certainly in balance with the rest of the wine. Nose is somewhat herbaceous; flavor consists of green apples and pear.

I enjoyed drinking this wine, though I would not select it again with the expectation of structure or complexity. Medium bodied, nose is earthy and herbaceous, imparting hints of wet clay and dark fruit.

This wine is quite dry. Melon, honeysuckle (?), and a hint of fennel on the nose. Zesty attack. Medium bodied and somewhat viscous. Decent length, with spice, oak, and soap on the finish. Goes well with spicy dishes, such as curry.
