Delicious, black cherry aroma with slight barnyard elements. Finish that goes on forever, with lots of potential as it's quite tannic.

Absolutely delicious wine. When first opened is all cherry and herbal nose, then moves into deeper fruits (mostly blackcurrant and blackberry) with that same delicious herbal quality. Smooth, if slightly alcoholic, but would be excellent with enough cheese or meat to kill maybe half a percent's worth of alcohol. One of my favorite jammy wines, really quite decadent.

Phenomenally delicious. I don't know if I see this getting any better. It's smooth drinking, the tannins have become very integrated, and the fruit explodes with blueberry and blackberry.

This bottle reminded me of a really great Napa Cab plus all the elements I love in a Sangio. Way more multi-dimensional than your everyday Sangiovese. Blackberries and blackcurrant on the nose, with just a touch of the tomato and oregano that I associate with Sangiovese. Throw in some raspberry on the palate, some very crisp acidity, some nice fine tannins, a touch of sweetness and excellent balance. Fantastic wine that would be great with food or, as I drank it, alone.

The general impression of this wine was that it was a classic Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, very smooth and easy drinking, but very flavorful, if a tad one dimensional.

Floral nose with some nice citrus and tropical fruit. When first opened I caught a whiff of raw meat which seemed to be persistent and consistent with my last bottle. Had with Chinese food, the oil cut through the acidity to bring through some great sweetness in this wine.

This wine was a knockout. There was this absolutely beautiful blood orange component to the nose, that settled down a bit but was joined by orange blossom and clover honey, along with magnificent red fruits. An absolutely delicious wine that I'd imagine will get more delicious in the bottle. We decanted for about 3 hours before it really started wow-ing us.

nose: a little smoke, menthol, red berries (bright cherry, raspberry, cranberry, redcurrant), little dark chocolate maybe, some plum.palate is very elegant, balanced, and tasty, with some leather and berries, but not too much. i enjoyed greatly.

This wine opened as an 89 but finished as a 91. I think it's probably needing more time in the bottle...the tannins were MASSIVE. After about 3 hours open, it started to cool down slightly into a delicious red cherry, leather, anise, herbal, tannic, and blackberry nose, with predominantly red cherry and those massive tannins on the palate. There was also a bit of alcohol that resolved itself after an hour or two, but it opened up a bit harsh. Great fruitiness but not an extremely heavy or fleshy body. Even with all the tannin, it was drinking pretty smooth, so I think this wine's got a good future ahead of it in maybe 3-5 more years. This wine is pretty much why I love Brunello.

The nose on this is still fantastic, full of blueberries and blackberries and cassis. Decanted about 4 hours. May have been a smidge long, the palate's grown a bit thin, but very smooth and easy drinking. Quite solid and great QPR.
