October 2007
pale garnet colour. Attractive savoury nose with gamey, leathery and tobacco notes over cooked strawberry. Light bodied with silky tannins, cherry fruit notes on palate but disappointingly short, lacks weight and intensity.

red cherries and earth on nose marred by metallic note and weedy palate. Drinkable but not great.

Grassy, nettley notes on nose, touch of sweetcorn, dry, high acidity, light bodied, citrus, spoilt by slightly hot, bitter finish. Still , being English it could form part of a lovely tradition - fish 'n chips in paper on the seafront -the acidity would cut though the fat like vinegar!

Peachy fruit nose, dry, medium+ acidity, medium body, spiciness on palate. Well balanced, clean finish

Interesting to try a decent German Sauvignon - this was a very modern example, fresh clean nose of grass, grapefruit and fresh coffee bean, high acidity, lime fruit on palate, medium length. Would be nice with fish, thai food, salad (not lemon cake which is what I had it with!)

Stunning - lime marmalade, marzipan nose, bitter seville orange marmalade on palate, mango and bitter almonds on finish. Sweet but acidity cuts through. Superb with blue cheese.
