Added Jun 3, 2009 at 2:23pmI overheard David Hirsch say, "the symphony is playing" on this one. Very burgundian. Smokey fruit and brambles on the nose with candle wax dripped in. The finish is incredibly dynamic and just keeps going forever.

Added Jun 3, 2009 at 2:15pmOne of the standouts of the tasting. There's a certain unique woody character that is in the nose of some of Flowers' wines that is so unique and special. This wine has a lot of it. It's so enticing. There's tons of awesome sweet fruit on the mouth.

Added Jun 3, 2009 at 2:09pmDark purple with a red edge. Pumpkin, vanilla, coconut, and strawberry jam on nose. A bit dusty in mouth and its lacking roundness, but there's a lot of acidity and tannin left in this wine from a big vintage.

Added Jun 3, 2009 at 1:51pmLight red color. Fresh strawberry, mint, and eucalytpus on nose. A young wine from a big vintage. Some heat in mouth with aggressive acidity and a hot finish. Needs some time to settle down.

Added May 29, 2009 at 8:05pmA syrah with training wheels. The color of borscht. Tastes more like a simple Gamay to me. Fresh strawberry and stewed fruits, a bit hot, and a small amount of a metallic meaty character on the nose. This is a wine of parts that aren't quite melded together yet to form a whole. Very short on the palate with very little interest. If anything it's fairly well balanced, although a little flat.
