Added Dec 19, 2014 at 3:27pmHere is yet another highly rated 2010 Red Bordeaux that does not deliver. Cedar and leather nose with some plum. Lighter body style, soft tannin, austere but with a medicinal note that is not enjoyable. After tasting many 2009 and 2010 Bordeaux, I cannot agree with the famous wine writers about the quality of these vintages. Seems like corruption to me.My rating-- 81.

Added Dec 12, 2014 at 1:59pmNice nose of grapefruit, short finish, minimal fruit, light body, gooseberry, somewhat dilute. My rating-- 79. My first 2014 from Marborough-- Not a good start.
Dec 11, 2014 at 7:45pm
Added Dec 11, 2014 at 7:45pmThis wine was highly touted in a major wine magazine as a 90 point wine. The wine is dilute, simple, short finish, with apple notes and honey but not much else. Lacks acid. My rating 79-80. Whoever rated this a 90 is either corrupt or has no business rating wines. Wasted my money.

Added Nov 27, 2014 at 1:57pmThe 2013 Riverstone is quite underwhelming. Very little fruit is to be found, the nose is mostly oak, dilute tasting. Good acid though. Years ago, J. Lohr had some really nice Riverstone Chards. Something has changed here. My rating-- 72.

Added Oct 23, 2014 at 2:57pmThe nose has tropical botrytis notes and honey mixed with fresh semillon fruit. It is a big improvement over their 2005. It does lack acid, which is quite common with Sauternes. Very sweet but needs a bit more complexity. My rating-- 89. Enjoyable wine.

Covey Run Riesling 2010Compare and Buy
Average Price: $7.99
Added Nov 8, 2014 at 7:24pmThis is a nearly dry Riesling with perhaps 1% RS. Great nose of citrus, pine resin and petrol. Very unusual to find domestic Rieslings with this flavor profile. Could pass for a 10 yr old Kabinett. Holding up well at 4 yrs old. Good acid balance. Fruit is dominated by pine/petrol notes but still does well. My rating --89-90. Great value.

Added Apr 15, 2014 at 1:29pmThis Chardonnay was tasted at six years old and was amazingly young tasting. It's fruit is doing well and has a lemon, toast and honey character. Nice wine for the money. My rating-- 88. Over the hill now--Nov 2014. Don't bother.

Added Nov 4, 2014 at 3:39pmAfter seeing praise for this wine, I had to try it. The nose has noticeable toast and honey notes but the fruit is dominated by the oak. There just isn't enough fruit to come through the oak. Been drinking Chardonnay for 40 years now and must say, this is no 90 point wine. Short finish and simple. My rating-- 84

Added Oct 30, 2014 at 6:54pmNice nectarine nose but a fairly simple wine. Needs a bit more acid to balance the sugar. No botrytis complexity as one would like to see from a late harvest Riesling. A bit awkward. My rating--86.
