Added Mar 21, 2010 at 9:06pmI explore Pinotage because it is on its way in. It's relatively new. It's Africa, and The Toasted Hostess needs her Africa. It is complex and beautiful. As Pinotage goes, this has fewer earthy tones and the notes are note as hearty as some. Very drinkable with the steak, chile-cornbread and green beans we has for supper this evening.

The acidity cleared the weight of the meal from my palette - the fruitier notes brought a bit of freshness to the event in my mouth. Spring is in the air - the first evening of summers promise set the backdrop for the meal and memory for this great Aussie wine.

Added Mar 3, 2010 at 8:41pmQuaffing wine - with fish, pork or a late Spring Saturday afternoon. This is certainly NOT a tradtional French thing and that's just fine - it's bright, a little acidic, balanced and refreshing. I plan to make three or four really big cork board one day!
