A well-balanced wine with just enough acid to pair well with food...any food. A little lemony, a little apply, and a savory finish...olive, or artichoke maybe. Had it with lasagne, spinach salad with bacon, even chocolate. Great wine

February 2009
I visited this winery while spending a week in Tuscany. It's at the end of a long dirt road, but well worth the visit. The winemaker gladly brought me out to the tasting room to taste all of his wines. this was the best of the bunch. It's a 60% Sangiovese 40% Cab Sauv blend, so Super Tuscan style. Very powerful, earthy, and pruny, but elegant and smooth on the finish. Bought a bottle and drank it with grilled steak, and it was outstanding with the food, as well.

Mission Point 2005
Drank at a blind Pinot Noir tasting I held. It received mixed reviews among the other guests, but most liked it, and more importantly-no one didn't like it. I enjoyed it very much and thought it was very interesting for the price ($9 at Trader Joe's). Had some cola, licorice, and currant notes with a good round finish.

Drank this at a blind Pinot Noir tasting I held. This was the least favorite of the bunch for four other guests, and the most well-liked by one of the guests. I enjoyed it. It is complex with a bit of heat from the alcohol and some harshness from the tannins, but it got more interesting and layered with repeated tastings. Some Dr. Pepper and cinnamon notes in the finish. I almost detected some watermelon too. Probably would benefit from another year in the bottle. This is a hard wine to be neutral about.

Drank this wine during a blind Pinot Noir tasting I held. This was the unanimous winner among the other 4 guests (out of four wines). It was my second choice, but it was a close. Good punch of fruit, well-balanced, and drinkable now. It's lively, with cherry-cola notes; not overly tannic. It has a nice finish and held up very well under repeated tastings.
