    StockBoy's Review:

2006 - very nice. Blackberry, cassis, and plum noise. First taste was tanic and tart, but it mellowed and become quite enjoyable. Better that most Cabernets. I only paid $15.00 at Wine Warehouse. Of interest: Calistoga is not in Napa.

Sobon is a big favorite of Total Wine Stores. I tried 4 the Zins (they bottle way too many zins to be reliable), and would never buy it again. All were "poor", even for the low price.

    StockBoy's Review:

Very cherry fruit forward - too forward. I liked it, but wouldn't buy it again. I like their Menage a Trios better - it is multi-layered and more complex and half the price.

  • StockBoy's Review:

Smooth, soft, and well blended. Perhaps too well is blended? The Zinfandel is intense with a strong plum/prune flavor, but the complexity and multi-layering of flavores was missing. Good, but for a Meritage, I like Menage a Trois by Folie a Deux better for its complexity.

    StockBoy's Review:

Friend brought me a bottle from France. 2005. I have not opened ut yet, but I trust the French to kown their wine - it may be good?

    StockBoy's Review:

Under-rated. This company has under gone a vast change for the better since the family split up. Don continues to make cheap grocery store wine (smoking loon, screw cappa nappa, etc.) while the new ownership of Sebastiani has cut production and improved their wines vastly. I was impressed when I visited their vinyard. You won't be disappointed.

Hanna Bismark is the best wine of a family vinyard that only makes great wine. This is the best of the best. Hard to find, but worth it.

I like their Sauvignon Blanc better, but this is second best. Complex flovors, light on the apple and citrus, strong on the pear, peach, mellon.

  • StockBoy's Review:

Hanna is one of the last great family vinyards. This is very good wine. Fruit forward, yet smooth and complex. The later vintages, 2005 thru 2008, are even better.
