    Slipstream's Review:

A fairly robust red, with some sourness and a bit of iron. This would probably be all right with a hearty meal, but is not too impressive on its own. The bottle I had was from 2006.

    Slipstream's Review:

Modestly sour, with some sweetness, and a bit of smoke and vegetal flavors, plus a dash of iron. Medium bodied and fairly mild. Enjoyable and well worth the $9 I spent for a liter.

    Slipstream's Review:

I have had Gruner Veltliners that I loved, but this was not one of them. A fairly simple, light, and sour wine with a bit of lime and cider in the flavor. This appears to be the Austrian version of inexpensive California Chardonnay.

Nice aroma. Mellow, with sweet and sour notes and a little oak. Fairly robust.

  • Slipstream's Review:

Floral notes in the tangy, fresh, light aroma. A pretty sweet riesling with a gently sour finish. A touch of tropical fruit, and just a bit of tannin and citrus. A little too sugary, but enjoyable.

2007. Tangy and sweet, and tasted as much like a quality cider as it did like a wine. This has a distinct apple quality. It is pleasant enough, and a good deal at $8.

    Slipstream's Review:

I like Mateus's shapely bottles and attractive little labels. Rock bottom price. Things did not get off to a good start when the cheap cork crumbled the minute I put an opener into it - maybe that helps explain the price tag. The flavor was not bad - tart and fruity, with hints of oak and pineapple. It was a little watery, but overall a perfectly drinkable budget white from a big producer.

  • Slipstream's Review:

A 2006 blend from the famous vintner & film director that contains zinfandel, syrah, and cabernet sauvignon. Cherry and oak in the aroma. Full and sweet at first, even a little brandy-like. Then it shifts to flavors of fig and prune and a pleasant sourness. Not sharp or bitter, but well-rounded. Surprisingly rich for a red table wine, very nice.

    $13.99

    Slipstream's Review:

A mellow blend that leans toward being dry, with tart and mineral notes. A little non-descript, but well worth the $7.
