    Gemtree Tadpole Chardonnay 2008

    Classic Aussie Chardonnay taste but I think the oak finish is a bit rich and along with the Chardonnay sharpness can be a bit much on the palette late on. Nice in small amounts

    I like my Champagne crisp, dry (but not too dry) and biscuity. I normally have to spend a lot to find that balance. This wine isn't the finished article but, for the price, it is very good.

    Definite lime nose and initial taste but with a creamy, oak finish. It stands up to rich food but gets too rich so, nice as it is, I wouldn't settle into the bottle. Available from Oddbins
