Introduced to the love of wine by the Seghesio Red Zinfandel at the age of 19...Fast forward and the love remains and has grown exponentially; it's hard to imagine enjoying much more than a glass of wine, a book, music and a comfortable chair.

Added Jul 30, 2009 at 10:37amI just had the 2005 bottle of this last night with a friend over dinner and it was wonderful. The blend was perfect to create a very smooth but with just enough hint of pepper to give it a little something more. We both had seafood dishes--mine was a lighter salmon and my colleague had a heavier skatewing dish, and the wine balanced with each of our meals very well. It can definitely stand on its own!

Added Jul 30, 2009 at 10:31amThis is a very nice Spanish wine with a nice bit of spice to it. It's perfect for what I bring for a "picnic wine" or other outdoor gathering events. It's simple, drinkable, and seems to please everyone.

Added Jul 29, 2009 at 11:45amI don't know what year this Brazin listing is for, but the 2006 is wonderful! I saw it last night as a new addition to my local wine store and thought I'd give it a shot as I usually really like anything from the Lodi region, and I was not disappointed in the slightest. In fact, I think it's going to be included among my regular buys. It's a very smooth zinfandel with a very nice level of spice throughout versus the big POW at the end. I also got a hint of floral in there as well--albeit very slight but just enough to tease me into wanting more. Check it out and let me know if you agree!

Lagar Alto la Mancha 2007

Added Jul 22, 2009 at 11:42amThis is a standard buy from my local liquor store. A 2005 Bordeaux for only $12 is a fantastic deal, plus it has the flavor and body to back it up. I truly think that the store doesn't know what it's stocking, but I won't complain. The wine has a a lot of berry to it that's grounded with what smells/tastes like a good base of cocoa. There really isn't any part of it that overpowers you, but it definitely has an effervescence to it--I usually don't like that in a red wine, but in this case it works!

Added Jul 9, 2009 at 11:13amThis wine introduced me to the world of wine; I loved it all around and still pick up bottles of other vintages for a special treat--however of course none can compare to my first.

Added Jul 9, 2009 at 11:08amThis is a standard in my collection. Easy drinking wine with a good spice at the back end and with enough body to make it interesting without overpowering.
