Orange peel and Barolo spice. A decent entry-level Barolo that hits its spots, but doesn't impress like a great Barolo should. This 1998 is drinking well now.

Absolutely fantastic Chassagne 1er Cru. Still fabulous with 10+ years cellar age.

A real disappointment. Woody, vegetal and rather thin. Someone messed up the fruit selection here. Although it is over-the-hill now, I doubt it was ever very good.

A consistent superstar. I've occasionally had "corked" and other similar thoughts on some bottles after opening the wine, but after 20 mins of breathing, the bottle is fine. The 2000 vintage is drinking really well now (2007) and I was very disappointed with the 2003. Try to get your hands on a 2000 or look for the 2005 which should be in the country soon.

Tasted at the winery in June 2007. Good dark fruit aromas and flavors with some oak, but a bit disappointing on body, and finish. It's a good example of Bordeaux and I am a fan of the 2004 Margaux so I thought about 4 starts. However, this wine is pricy for what it is.

A good quality Champagne... but don't get caught in the marketing hype. Sometimes it can be extremely yeasty on the nose and palate. I prefer the French-market version, which you can find in magnums here in the US.

An excellent Champagne... but... look at the price. Henriot and Gratien produce better examples that you can get for under $130.

A rich, nutty, and biscuity tete de cuvee Champagne.

Good cherry fruit and spice, but I found it a bit too sweet. Good concentration and refinement for the money.
