    RBoulanger's Review:

If you love Madeira and live in New York, don't buy this wine in state! I was visiting Boston and found this in a wine shop for a song. Its sister, the Boston Bual, had a $10 homer price premium.Anyway, I've sung the praises of the Rare Wine Company's Historic Series elsewhere, but their New York Malmsey, the sweetest style of Madeira, is truly spectacular. A medium brown colored wine with a green tinted rim, this old beauty is full of delicious walnut, toffee, raisin and date flavors. Super complex, powerful and certainly sweet, the incredible acidity keeps this wine in balance and the finish is actually quite dry. Now we have some idea why Thomas Jefferson spent so much time writing about Madeira.

    Suduiraut 2006

    RBoulanger's Review:

A delicately balanced Sauternes with lemon-orange aromas.Nectar-like with deep citrus, pear, peach and honeyed stone fruit flavors. A touch of botrytis. Delicious. One of the very best sweet wines of the vintage.

  • RBoulanger's Review:

2006 was more a classic Sauternes vintage - it's not going tow in the awards like the 2001s or 2005, but it does possess great poise, acidity, and balance. A great honeyed stone fruit nose. In the mouth, delicate orange and pear flavors are balanced by honeyed sweetness and acidity. Some botrytis notes and a long honeyed finish.
