Tasted this wine last night and found it to be impressive in structure, spice and balance, despite the 14.5 alcohol, The palate is rich, ripe and full-bodied. Leather, tobacco, ripe dark plums and earthy spice on the nose.

Always consistent, ripe and earthy. The 2006 offers lots of red fruit, medium tannins and smooth finish. Well balanced, this wine is a classic.

The finest white I have ever tasted in the last 12 months! Elegant, ripe, medium body and superb acidity. The flavours are rich, yet the texture is fine and the finish goes on and on.

A new producer near Bolgheri released its first vintage, 2005, showing a lot of promise. Classic old world Bordeaux notes with a hint of something more - Italian earthiness and spice. Full-bodied with smooth, ripe tannins.

One of the finest Syrah outside of the Northern Rhone. This is an impressive wine with rich texture, ripe fruit that is balanced by firm tannins and spice. A definite keeper if you could find one.

This wine is even more robust that the 2004, with firmer tannins and solid core. The fruit is just showing a bit, but this wines requires long ageing time: 12 years.

Earthy, ripe and voluptuous, with solid tannins that are focused and velvety. This wine will get even better in 8-10 years.
