I normally love Cliff Lede's wins, but this one fails to blow me away like his usual wines. Make no mistake, it's not bad, but somehow it just seems flat compared to other wines I've had from this vineyard. Great smell, a deep berry that shows great promise, deep purple color, starts off great, complex flavors with tannins that are under control after 5 years, even a good sustain, but it just goes nowhere. Highly drinkable, but when I get in this price range, I want more from a wine. If price weren't a consideration, I'd recommend it, but at this price, it's not a bargain.
